Summary
Greetings, patrons. Some updates about Underunderstood and Overunderstood!
You’ve probably noticed that the Underunderstood feed has been dormant since April of last year. Three of us have had babies since then, and it’s been easier to just do the weekly Overunderstood episodes while we adjust. But it’s time to shake things up.
We’re Bringing the public feed back
The main Underunderstood feed will return on February 8th. We’ll be coming back with a weekly format somewhere between the old Underunderstood and Overunderstood. We want to integrate lots of listener questions and voicemails, so if you’ve got anything, send them our way (212-994-4882 or hello@underunderstood.com).
While we ramp up, you may hear some stories that started here on Overunderstood, but we’ll try to incorporate something new every episode so there is always something fresh for our longtime Patreon supporters.
Patreon feed
So where does that leave the Patreon feed? We’ll be publishing less frequently to it, in general. But we’ll be hosting virtual live shows (stay tuned for details), where we’ll go through listener questions and take calls from the live audience. Recordings of those events will go in the Overunderstood feed.
We’ll also post “bonus” content to that feed. We’re not sure what that means yet, but we want to get more experimental there.
A new Patreon tier
Originally, Overunderstood was our main Patreon offering. Since Overunderstood will be publishing less frequently, we want to offer a lower-priced tier. The new $3 tier will get you access to our Patreon-only Discord and the monthly live streams. If this sounds like a better fit for you, just change your subscription on Patreon!
The $5 tier will get you access to our Patreon-only Discord, the monthly live streams, as well as the full Overunderstood feed and recordings of live shows. If this is the tier you want, you can keep your subscription the same.
Thank you!
Finally we want to say thank you to everyone who supports us here on Patreon. We started this not knowing if anyone would want to pay for it, and we’ve been touched by the warm and engaged community that has grown out of it. Your support literally keeps the show going, and we’re excited to see where this year takes us.
